Why Your Brand Needs to Be on Facebook Now
With 450 million users globally (and millions more being added each week) Facebook () is dominating the web in unparalleled ways. Yet, even as the social network has steadily grown over its short but remarkable history, many brands have remained on the sidelines of the social media revolution. Facebook was the most visited site on the web for the week ending on March 13, 2010, surpassing even...

Adobe Announces Flash Social Services
The new Adobe Flash Platform Services Social service enables developers to rapidly integrate applications created with Flash Builder and Adobe® Flash® Professional with social networks. Developers no longer need to do the work of integrating with each separate, constantly changing social network service API to provide users access to multi networks. A single Flash Platform Services layer does...

National Bankruptcy will Repeal Obamacare | Ron...
Ron Paul tells it like it is: There is no “right” to healthcare. Obamacare will be repealed by a national bankruptcy. The IRS is hiring new agents to steal more money. Central economic planning has failed. A much bigger economic crisis is coming. And, every country in the world is technically bankrupt. via ronpaul.com Posted via web from fall’s...

Walmart Reversal Marks Victory for Brands -...
Walmart has decided that national brands are still important — even ones with relatively small shares that it used to think didn’t. The world’s-biggest retailer had embarked on an ambitious program to winnow brand assortment in an effort to reduce inventory, improve margins and, it said, offer the consumer a better shopping experience. But realizing the culling actually...

Microsoft: IE9 won't run on XP | Beyond Binary -...
LAS VEGAS—Microsoft won’t say just when it expects to ship Internet Explorer 9, but whenever it does, it won’t be running on Windows XP. “Building a modern browser requires a modern operating system,” Internet Explorer General Manager Dean Hachamovitch said at a press conference at the Mix10 event. Microsoft unveiled a “platform preview” of IE9...

my dream mobile device
I do a lot of commuting daily in my car and I think the largest hole is not having connectivity built into my car.  I have a moto droid which I can link into my car via the aux input.  That allows me to listen to pandora, podcasts, etc.  But that isn’t enough.  What I would like to see is Google come out with a car radio form factor device that allows me to have a real mobile platform for my...

A waterfall of Pepsi at SXSWi | The Social -...
AUSTIN, Texas—It seems a little bit counterintuitive at first that one of the most prominent brands at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSWi), an annual gathering of all things digital-media, isn’t a tech company in the least: it’s PepsiCo, a food and beverage conglomerate originally founded in 1898. The company, a top-tier sponsor of SXSWi, had set up two...

Here comes Linux's iPad clones
You can pre-order an Apple iPad starting today, Mar. 12 — but do you really want to? I get why you’d want an iPad. I’d like one, too. But when I consider that there are soon going to be literally dozens of cheaper, Linux-powered iPad-like devices on the market, I find it easier to resist putting $499 on my credit card. I tell a lie though. The Apple iPad isn’t really...

can you get by using a iPod touch for iPhone...
I am a verizon customer and don’t really want to ditch my new droid and jump over to AT&T.  So here is my question.  Can I get an iPod Touch and use that for development or should I bite the bullet and get an iPhone with the service contract, etc.  I know that the Touch doesn’t have all the features of the iPhone, but is it worth it from a cost perspective to spend literally...

Google has annouced that as of today, if you’re searching for a product that is sold by participating retailers, including Best Buy, Sears, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm, you can just look for the blue dots in the search results to see if it’s available in a local store. If you see a blue dot, you can tap on the adjacent “In stock nearby” link, and...

Does HTML5 Really Beat Flash? The Surprising...
With the impending launch of the Apple iPad, the Cupertino-based company’s shunning of Adobe Flash technology has been brought to the forefront of technological discussions. While it was one thing to forgo Flash on a small, mobile device such as the iPhone or iPod Touch, some are questioning whether lack of Flash support is going to be a make-it-or-break it feature for the new slate...

Get Satisfaction Turns To Facebook To Socialize...
Two years ago customer support startup Get Satisfaction turned its ear to Twitter to help its clients monitor Twitter for mentions of brands. Get Satisfaction makes a network of customer support forums where customers can post their own questions, ideas, problems, or conversations about a product. Companies can also claim their board and put their own employees on to moderate the boards....

AFP: Social networks a challenge to cable news:...
The biggest challenge to Cable News Network is not other 24-hour television news stations but social networks like Facebook and Twitter, the president of CNN US said Wednesday. “The competition I’m really afraid of are social networking sites,” Jon Klein said at the Bloomberg BusinessWeek 2010 Media Summit here. “That’s an alternative that threatens to pull people...

Hi5 to support Facebook games
Hi5, a social network that changed its focus to gaming relatively recently, announced Tuesday that it’s built some code so that Facebook application developers can transport their creations to Hi5’s platform with minimal effort. It’s specifically targeting game developers, so that some of the smash-hit games built on Facebook can now wind up on Hi5. This may sound familiar:...

Four in five adults believe access to the Internet is a fundamental right — with those feelings particularly strong in South Korea and China — and half believe it should never be regulated, according to a global survey. A poll of 27,000 adults in 26 countries for the BBC World Service showed 78 percent of Internet users believed the Web gave them greater freedom, while nine in 10...
